The capital Bucharest was hit by a storm, which triggered a code red alert. Residents were warned via RO-Alert messages to take shelter, but unfortunately, a 49-year-old woman from Otopeni was killed by falling debris from a wind-torn roof. The sky suddenly darkened, and Bucharest residents received a Ro-Alert on their mobile phones, advising them to close their windows at home and avoid going outside during the Code Red period.
According to a report compiled by the Ploieşti branch of the Romanian Electricity Division, six medium-voltage lines were completely affected, and five others were partially affected, leaving 32,095 consumers without electricity in approximately 40 locations.
