Princess Diana broke all royal rules

Princess Diana raised her children breaking almost every royal rule. First she decided to give birth in a hospital instead of in the palace, which was an unheard of impertinence. Prince William became the first among the Windsors to be born in a hospital. Traditionally, it is the father who names his children, but the princess refused to give her children those names. If she had agreed to the tradition, the children would have been named Albert and Arthur rather than William and Harry. Diana became the first to publicly announce that she feeds her children herself. Previously there were nurses to feed the children and it was considered unseemly for a royal to do so.
